save it for another day

Woo. New layout. Don’t know how I feel about it … ^^’ Don’t know if it’s a sunrise or a sunset. :b And the blob-y thing-y is the shape of a moth I took a picture of … yeah … ._. So it’s up in the air! Erm, how I feel about my layout, not the moth.

Got tired of changing everything, so … all the subpages and stuff probably look a little off. Although I doubt people look at those things. Oh well. Greymatter is getting on my nerves. ^^;; Yupyup. See … usually I remember to uncheck the “Automatically rebuild all files” option after editting the sidebar … but then this time I didn’t … so I lost a few minutes waiting for everything to rebuild. x_x;; And I keep getting “Cannot find server” pages after changing something. I’m pretty sure it has to do with my site being on a Windows server instead of Linux. Windows doesn’t like cgi much, or something … or you can’t set permissions with files. Yeah … I forget. Oh well.

I was gonna use SSI to put in the sidebar, but then I looked at my stats and it says 10 people have visited this site (this index page) using Netscape 3. o_o;;; But then again, the sidebar isn’t that important. So maybe I’ll switch it tomorrow. :) Let’s just hope no one’s been linking to fs.net/index.html.

Also found out, looking at my extreme tracker, that someone found this site looking for “de-hooved horses.” o_O I figured out where it came from (NOFX’s lyrics ^^;;), but still … it’s a weird thing to be searching for … Ooh! And from the 18th of July to the 27th I got an average of 4 hits per day, then from the 28th to the 4th of August I got an average of 22, then 10 on the 5th :( then 46 the next day. Wooo. :b Did SM00/Adam/Amanda have some thing going on or what?

Now, to close this entry, a link to pictures of Lizzie Borden’s dad and stepmom. ‘Cause SM00 told me to put dead people on my blog and I said I’d link to some pictures. :b

pink layouts, emperors, and a Sandman quote

You know what’s odd? I’ve been to … three different bookstores, and all three had only one volume of The Sandman series, and not the same one, either. And most definitely not the first one, either, otherwise I’d have it. >:

Today I finished the new layout for my diary (which you are still not allowed to read, SM00). I think I got tired of the black and darkness of the Tsuda layout, because this one’s PINK, and has white text. Well, it’s kind of a salmon/red pink. Not too bad, I don’t think. I don’t really know, I don’t hate pink, so I can’t tell if it’s bad or not. The only thing I don’t like is that I needed almost 15 images to make the layout, and I used div layers. ^^’ I’ve got a policy for my diary: simple coding, few images, simple layouts. It’s ’cause I use Netscape 4.5 (or is it 4.7?) to update my diary. Ah well. Maybe I’ll get tired of it quickly.

After dinner watched The Last Emperor with Mommy. O_O Umm … Good movie. Very. Asians look kinda cute in 20s/30s styles. ^__^ I want a haircut kinda like that wannabe pilot lady. Not so short in the back, though … I’m talking about the one she had when she first showed up. I didn’t know there was a Manchuria during World War II. Saw some footage … asked Mommy, and she said it’s probably real. *shudders* She asked, “What’s worse? The killing of [I forget the number] by one person or one million killing 200,000?”

Mm. Anyway.

“Without individuals we see only numbers: a thousand dead, a hundred thousand dead, ‘casualties may rise to a million.’ With individual stories, the statistics become people—but even that is a lie, for the people continue to suffer in numbers that themselves are numbing and meaningless. Look, see the child’s swollen, swollen belly, and the flies that crawl at the corners of his eyes, his skeletal limbs: will it make it easier for you to know his name, his age, his dreams, his fears? To see him from the inside? And if it does, are we not doing a disservice to his sister, who lies in the searing dust beside him, a distorted, distended caricature of a human child? And there, if we feel for them, are they now more important to us than a thousand other children touched by the same famine, a thousand other young lives who will soon be food for the flies’ own myriad squirming children?” Neil Gaiman, American Gods

You know … that doesn’t make much sense to me. Of course, it can’t help that both times I read it was after midnight. But it’s still worded so nicely …

you in your autumn sweater

Oy. IE’s gonna kill meh. x_x

Or the smiley that my friend made:

Haha. Anyway. I redid the layout, and it looks fiiiine on my computer, when it’s just an html file. But then I actually go as far as uploading the exact same layout that looks perfect, and it shows that space in between the pictures. GRRRRR! *kicks whatever’s doing it* It looks FINE on Netscape, you stupid piece of … thing!!

Oh well.

wish I had your faults

x_x Okay, I’m working on a new layout for fs.net, because a certain someone said it’s hard to read. *sticks tongue out* But I’m going to put the Yukari layout up on IAT. :b I was going to, anyway, ’cause I thought it was such a nice layout … Back to what I was saying …

So on this layout, I’m trying to … um, make the text wrap around a portion of the layout. But guess what I found out? IE has some margin around the pic. Netscape doesn’t. So I either have a black, thick line go down the middle of the layout in IE, or have the pic look misaligned in NS. *stabstab* I don’t understand why IE even has that margin. I didn’t understand why the pics weren’t lining up at first until I took in the factor that Microsoft is stoopid. *kicks MS and IE and smacks them*

:( I really thought it was a neat idea for a layout. IE is mean and ugly and stupid. I’m bored with blog layouts lately. It seems like they’re all the same. Picture in one area, log in a column below or on the side, info bar in another column below or on the side. Or just a table with an image at top.

Well anyway. Last night I watched this episode of Driven on VH1 about Christina Aguilera. She sang like that when she was young. o_o Wow. Not that I enjoy her voice when she does that, though … This one hate site I went to (I forget why I went there, but it was pretty good, half was substantial reasoning, the other half was crud) called what she does “voice acrobatics.” I thought that was nifty. I don’t like it when she does her voice acrobatics. :) I like “Beautiful.” And in “Fighter” she doesn’t do it that much. And I can’t remember much else of her music.

Mommy saw what I was watching and she said, “Who are her PR agents? They’re doing a lousy job. They’ve got her stripping half naked.” And I told her, “That’s what she wants to do.” And she said, “Oh.” Well, uhh, I liked Christina Aguilera more after I saw that show, but I can’t remember why. I don’t like her songs or her singing any more than I did before, though. And I couldn’t help noticing that she pinches her nose up, and scrunches up her upper lip, sometimes when she does her voice acrobatics. Yucks.

Oh yeah. I’m supposed to be looking into pMachine, aren’t I? >_> *hasn’t done any such thing* *is lazy* … *runs*

IE and NS complaints

IE ish crueeeel. -.- I clicked on some javascript popup window link at some site, and it froze, so I CTRL+ALT+DEL it, and open a new window and go to the same site, click on another (regular) link and it freezes again. Grrrs. Open a new window, go to a different site (I was looking for dark red or “black” roses), click ONE link and it freezes. >_<!!

Well after that I lost count. But it mainly consisted of me opening new windows, clicking links, and CTRL+ALT+DELs. Yup. I just wish Netscape were smoother to use. Hard to explain what I mean. Well, for example, ya gotta click the address bar twice to select a certain part of the url, I guess. Also, my mouse touchpad’s scrolling thing doesn’t work with Netscape 7. -_- Umm, what else? I dunno, it just seems to work more slowly … Yucks.
