I haven’t really been on the computer much lately … which can technically be called a lie. What I mean is I’m not spending almost the whole day on the computer. I may get on in the morning (11ish), after lunch (1ish), or in the evening (5ish). The times I get on in the morning or after lunch are the times I go on someone else’s computer so that I get off in a couple hours or so.
On Saturday Mum started taking the paint off the front porch. To explain … there’re three layers of paint, we found out: the grey-blue paint my parents put on it when they first bought the house; the maroon paint they were trying to cover up; and to Mum’s surprise, fire engine red paint. The blue and maroon layers come off nicely just like the picture on the paint remover can, but the red paint does nothing but liquify then dry back up. Mum thinks there’s lead in the paint which prevents it from peeling like the newer layers of paint. Luckily, though, we found out that turpentine will remove the red paint, when used in conjuntion with the paint remover (even though it says on the can to not mix with other substances, haha). It just takes a long time. So every day we’re outside scrubbing the porch for two hours or, more often, longer.
It’s amazing how, when I take into account stuff I do when I randomly get off the computer and walk around the house, and other stuff like eating, that those two hours mean I lose a lot out of the day. So I haven’t really done any of the stuff I wanted to do over the summer. :( But I’ll make a list now! Just to remind myself. Or guilt myself. Or something.
- ✓ WordPress install for new dreamlog
- ✓ input all old entries into WordPress x.x
- ✓ credit all (as many as possible) lyrics in Lyrically Longing
- add more lyrics to lxl
- join lots and lots of fanlistings for stuff from my childhood
- make a website for Amy Lee’s fashion (much like Padme’s Wardrobe … except without the niftyness and multiple pictures and neato layout and overall ubertasticness)
- finish remaking jeans into a skirt (find fabric!)
- make a subsection in SMC for pictures of collections I have (eg Snoopys, manga, books, playing cards … whatever; this is mostly for when I’m bored, which evidently ain’t happening soon)
- READ *g*
But at least I managed to clean my room and clean off my desk. Although it’s not really noticeable now … *cough*
Odd, even though I’ve taken to staying up way late again (*smashy*), I still haven’t got near enough time as I used to. *goes to bed now*
*throws confetti* Yaay! Let’s celebrate! XD Lots of reasons to celebrate!
Mommy told me the Amazon order is in Nevada right now and that we should get it by Tuesday or Wednesday. Yaaay! ^__^ But my You’re the Storm single is in a different shipment. :( ‘Cause it’s an import. Oh well. I shall wait longer for my song. Then I’ll remake my burned Cardigans CD. ‘Cause I got tired of Pikebubbles and Sunday Circus.
Tomorrow we go to Knott’s!! XDDD Can’t waaait! Err, maybe I can. Because I have to try to get to bed early to wake up in time. ^^;; (too many “to”s in that sentence x.x)
I think that I am pretty much done with writing stuff for SMC. I can’t think of anything else to add that doesn’t give too much info about me, so I’m just gonna add my collections and stuff and upload it. Wheee. :)
I think that’s all.
Hm. How interesting. I left my laptop to eat dinner, and when I came back the screen was black, as that’s the screensaver I prefer. I touch the touchpad and the screen switches to a lighter shade of black. Yupyup. It meant my screen went blank. So I took out the battery and unplugged the ac adapter. As I unplugged it my laptop went “MEEEEEEW!” in a high-pitched tone, fading away at the end. O.o Is my laptop trying to talk to me again? (One time Daddy was trying to print something from my laptop and it said something like, “The printer cannot be found” even though I had the sound turned off. o.o) But anyway. Isn’t it stupid that my screen goes blank when I’m not even using it? >_< Grrrr.
Today went to Burger King with Mommy and got frozen floats. Woo, yummy! :D It’s half Icee and half ice cream. A real float. XD And it’s yummyy!! It costs $1.59 though. x_x
Also ordered from Amazon tonight. Finally! I got The Cardigans’ You’re the Storm single with Hold Me on it, yaay!, Flower Drum Song by C. Y. Lee, Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coehlo, Chobits vol. 7, and “Prelude and Nocturnes” (Sandman book 1). w00t. :D Yes, I seem a bit obsessed with Neil Gaiman, don’t I? Fuuun. ^-^
*ahem* Yeah. Site stuff: I am stuck on what else to write for SMC. o_o I’ve got “background,” “Christ,” and “personality.” Not much in personality, either. -.- Ahaha! Uhh … yeah. I do mean the section I’m writing, not me. :b I don’t know what else to write about. It’s been such a long time since I started this remake that I forgot all the sections I wanted to do. ^^;;;
Concerning the IAT layout: trying to figure out why the placement of things changes when the size of the browser window changes. O_o And also, as soon as I get around to it, I’ll put up a new layout here. ^^;; I feel like making a traditional blog layout complete with sidebar and such. Go me. :b
Now to close this, a poem Neil Gaiman wrote entitled (I assume), “Reading the Entrails: A Rondel”
They’ll call it chance, or luck, or call it Fate—
The cards and stars that tumble as they will.
Tomorrow manifests and brings the bill
For every kiss and kill, the small and great.
You want to know the future, love? Then wait:
I’ll answer your impatient questions. Still—
They’ll call it chance, or luck, or call it Fate,
The cards and stars that tumble as they will.
I’ll come to you tonight, dear, when it’s late,
You will not see me; you may feel a chill.
I’ll wait until you sleep, then take my fill,
And that will be your future on a plate.
They’ll call it chance, or luck, or call it Fate.
